For a Successful Network Marketing, Don’t Think Too Hard!

We’ve all heard the term “over-thinking.”  We’re humans, and we often think about things too much.  Our over-thinking can often actually stand in the way of our success.

Of course, we don’t want to act foolishly or never think things through.  Over-thinking, however, can prevent us from doing actual work!

We all know people who constantly talk about what they plan to do, but they never get around to doing anything.  Over-thinkers have read over the company’s websites a million times and reviewed every bit of literature the company offers.  They think they must know the answer to every possible question that may come up in their business.

You definitely want to be informed of all the basics of your business, but you do NOT have to know everything there is to know before you begin working.  You should know how to navigate your websites so you can find answers when you’re asked a question.  In fact, you NEVER will know everything there is to know about your business!  Simply know how to find answers or who to contact for answers.

Those who are making money with their network marketing business are the ones who learned the basics and then got to work.  They took action almost from the day they joined.

As we begin interacting with prospects – online or face-to-face – we learn what works and what does not.  Sure, you will likely make some mistakes, but you’ll get past them and keep striving for success.

So, don’t think too hard!  Get out there and take action!  You’ll have on-the-job training, your knowledge will grow over time – and so will your paycheck!

Decisions, Decisions...

There are many things to consider when you’re looking for a network marketing business.  There are so many options available today that choosing one can be daunting.

I believe that you can only be successful with a company if you are passionate about their product or service.  If you cannot sell the products due to lack of enthusiasm, all the rest of the considerations mean nothing.

Be sure you believe in the product and that there is a high demand at a reasonable price for whatever you will be selling?  Conduct a “Google” search on the product name to see what responses are generated.

Do your due diligence, lots of research on any company in which you may be interested.  When you do an Internet search of the company, look for red flags.  Are there negative posts about the company or many complaints posted by former distributors?  Most companies have a few complaints, but if there are a lot, run the other way!

Your research should include the management/ownership of the company.  Did they own another company that failed in the past?  Have you seen negative information about them?

Do you like the compensation plan the company offers?  Do you fully understand it?  Some people like working with companies that offer a variety of ways you can earn money; others like simple, straightforward comp plans.  Does the compensation plan fit into your long-term goals?

Once you have completed your “homework” about the company itself, you’ll want to choose wisely who you want for your sponsor.  Which team leader you select can make a difference as to whether or not you are successful in your business.

It is important to select a team that offers support and training in the basics of growing your business – both on and offline.  To select a prospective sponsor or team leader, you can do an Internet search on the business name to see which names come up the most and are ranked highest in the search.  Select two or three people, and search for blogs they have written, forums in which they participate and videos they have created.  You can learn a great deal about a person from their blogs, forum posts and videos.

You may want to connect with those few prospective sponsors on Facebook, Twitter, etc. to learn more about them.  If they permit it, attend a couple training calls with the team.  Learning about the person with whom you’ll be working can go a long way toward making the best choice.

If you take your time and are thorough when researching your next business, team and sponsor, the possibility of building a strong network marketing business increases greatly.

Follow the Leader

I really don’t understand it.  I am pretty successful with my Xpress Healthcare business, not a six-figure earner (yet), but I’m making a living.  Why then, when team members ask for help and I direct them to particular sites to promote their business, do they either totally ignore me or only partially follow my suggestion.

I operate nearly my entire business online.  I don’t advertise on sites specifically meant for placing ads.  I have had little success with them.

I have built my business using relationship marketing.  Among other networking sites, I participate on IBOToolbox.  I use a few sites, but I have had the best results from using IBOToolbox and a forum site where work-at-home business owners share ideas, ask questions and discuss myriad subjects, some having nothing to do with business.  Both IBOToolbox and the other forum I use a great deal offer ways to post ads at no cost, and I always have ads running on those sites.

I train my team members through twice-a-week team calls and using one-on-one training.  Once again, a new team member joined my team yesterday who found me on one of these forums.  I have signed more new team members from that one site than from anywhere else.  I use IBO as much for the relationships I have built as I do for promoting my business.  I have no one of knowing how many people see my posts, or those of my posts that other IBO members share elsewhere, and eventually end up joining.  I do know, however, that I get lots of traffic, because of IBOToolbox.

So, with that said, I’ll return to my original question.  I consistently advice my team members to join and participate on those two sites in particular.  I use others too, but not nearly as much, and team members sometimes find forums they enjoy.  I tell the team straight out, “I have signed more team members from that one site than from anywhere else or any other type of advertising.”

IBOToolbox is great as well, and I remind team members about using it all the time.  One of my new team members actually listened, following my directions on how to use it, and she signed her first team member yesterday – someone who found her on IBO!

That old slogan comes up again here, “You can lead a horse to water…”  I simply want the best for my team.  I want them to grow strong, successful Xpress Healthcare businesses.  And yet only a fraction of my team participates in either of these two amazing business promoting forums.  Oh well, all I can do is show them the way, and I will continue to do so.
